Singing in a choir is a character-building and modesty-teaching experience; it is not just a matter of perfectly performing one’s part, it is a true social training. It is team work, where anybody can learn that each one is necessary, but no one is indispensable, to accept one’s limits and not to judge the others, to breath correctly and to use diaphragm for a correct voice emission.
The choir unites people of every age and type: children, teenagers, women, men, young and old people who share a passion that spreads from pop-jazz to sacred music, from Italian and international folk to spirituals, and much more.
At the beginning, there is the search for a “single voice”, where nobody has to stand out but all the voices blend in one sound, then comes a gradual development that leads to the polyphonic choir, made of different voices.
- Preparatory choir (up to 6 years of age)
- White voice choir (7 to 11 years of age)
- Youth choir (12 to 18 years of age)
- Adults choir (older that 18 years of age)
Thus, singing in a choir does not mean just to sing, but it is also an excellent social exercise because, as it happens in real life, it challenges every singer to become alternatively leading and supporting voice, according to the score’s requirements.
All the choir classes are free and open to everybody, even to those who are not attending other CEDiM courses.
