Centre for Music Education and Promotion
Associazione CEDiM (Centre for Musical Education and Promotion) was formed in Gonars in May 1998.
In 2002 CEDiM received by Jaques Chapuis, president of AIEMW (Willems International Music Education Association), the international acknowledgment for instrumental music education and training, in conformity with the methodology of Edgar Willems.
Today, the high level of the education is granted by annual controls by CRDM of Udine, the Willems reference centre for Italy, Austria and Slovenia.
Since 2009, CEDiM is also the reference centre in its area (South Friuli) for the national project Nati per la Musica (Born for Music), linked to another project, Nati per Leggere (Born for Reading), which is promoted by CSB Onlus (Children Health Center) of Trieste.
In June 2012 an agreement between CEDiM and the National Conservatory of Music in Udine has been signed; students can now take both main and complementary exams from level A, B and C directly at CEDiM, being examined by an internal examination board and a board chairman named by the Conservatory, with no extra costs for the students.
Cedim has signed another agreement in February 2013, with Trinity College London, for the level acknowledgment for rock and pop instrumental education (keyboards, guitar, drums). Exams are held at CEDiM three times a year during the autumn, spring and summer sessions in the presence of a Trinity College examiner. The level certificates (1 to 8) are issued by Trinity College.
